Fall Flowers! Mums the Word!

Mum means mother, be quiet or is a short form of a well known flower. We planted our last year from some we bought in containers. I don't remember what colors we had so they will surprise us this season.
Dave and I are gearing up for fall. Our watermelon crop was beyond our expectations and the tomatoes are still arriving. We have enjoyed roses and colorful zinnias all summer. Now we are working on fall Chrysanthemums (Mums). They are so easy to propagate. Simply pinch the tops and put in water or loose moist soil out of direct sunlight. As you pinch the existing plants will grow more branches and flowers. They make great fall flowers in baskets or in the ground.
They grow all summer and flower from late August up to the fall frost.
