Sometimes I come across people who just impress me. Then there are those who are irritating. Both people groups can be beneficial.
Proverbs 27:17
17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Chefs have tools for sharpening their knives. Sometimes my husband, a retired chef, did not have a tool handy. Instead, he would simply pick up another knife and swipe the two knives against each other. Both would become sharper. In the same way, people who rub us the wrong way can help us grow.
It is easy to like or love the ones who agree with my views and appreciate my way to be. But the challenge is to love (care about) those who don't.
I was recently impressed by Ben Bland's testimony. You can find him on YouTube. His life changed when somebody showed him they really cared. A church married lady offered to take him out for coffee when he was obviously in a gay lifestyle. She became his friend. He now encourages believers to get out of their confort zones and really love people who are different. We cannot change anyone, not even ourselves. Only God can do that. But we can learn to appreciate others more. Everyone has a gift and a story. We can hear their story and learn about their gifts.
